P-Day fun and games! |
On transfer week in this mission we have our pday on Tuesday
because everybody moves around on Monday. So I’ve been here five weeks, and now
this transfer is only going to be 5 weeks long! It will end December 16.
Apparently the reasoning behind it is that all the flights are too expensive if
the transfer ends too close to Christmas. I have already been here in CO for
over a month! The time has been going by pretty fast. We got to walk a lot this
week; it was so fun to be out in the fresh air! It is really beautiful here!
Since I've been here we have been able to do some really fun
service for the Hereth family! Sister Hereth served her mission on Temple
Square and met her future husband while she was serving at the Cannery!! They
have 5 adorable children now; they are the best family ever. So I’ve been doing
some service in her home; I learned how to make roman blinds out of regular
little blinds and paint over old paint without having to sand it first! I guess
CHALK PAINT is the cool new thing! It looks so beautiful on and it’s really easy
to do. Sister Hereth buys it at a lovely little boutique on Parker’s Main
Street, such a fun place. The first week that I got here we had dinner at their
house and it was so much fun to talk about Temple Square, everything is so
similar now to the way it was when she was a missionary there! We even live in
the same place. I saw pictures of her old apartment when she lived there and
the furniture is still the same hahaha.
We had some great lessons this week. Our investigators really
seem to be progressing. On Sunday we had 6 investigators come to church; that
is the best! We’re trying to teach them all and move them along steadily
towards baptism. I really hope that I will be able to be here to see some or
all of them get baptized!
My companion is having a little bit of a health challenge so we
are working on that and she’s getting some tests tomorrow. But we’re moving forward!
It has been starting to cool down here. Luckily we have a space
heater in our room!
Love you!
